Rue & Ziffra Joins United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties to Donate Shampoo, Soap, Toothpaste… And Yes, Toilet Paper to Hundreds Across County Lines
Rue & Ziffra is no stranger to doing good in the community. Still spreading goodness during this time of COVID-19, social isolation, unemployment and uncertainty, Rue & Ziffra teamed up with United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties (UWVFC) to collect and distribute toiletries to those in need in a new initiative called RZ United.
“Finding toilet paper has been difficult. Not being able to afford toilet paper is tragic,” Allan Ziffra, president of the law firm, said.
Rue & Ziffra received thousands of toiletry items from local hotels and businesses, including Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach, Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, S.R. Perrott, Holiday Inn Resort Daytona Beach Oceanfront, Island Art, The Synergy Group, Renaissance by Marriott Daytona Beach Oceanfront, and Pevonia International, LLC. UWVFC received a donation from Cottonelle of 10,000 rolls of toilet paper. Compliments to Edgewell Personal Care, the volunteers will also be distributing much needed feminine hygiene products. These generous donations will be distributed to multiple non-profit agencies throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.
Rue & Ziffra also joined forces with Rolling Thunder, a motorcycle group of military veterans, to deliver over 300 items to families and organizations throughout Volusia and Flagler counties.
“We are so thankful to receive soap, shampoo, paper products, toothpaste and more from Rue & Ziffra’s efforts,” Yvette Ferrell, the resource development manager at UWVFC, said. “These essential items add up fast on the grocery receipt. When you need to make a choice between toiletries and food, the care items fall off the list.” Due to the outpouring generosity of donors, UWVFC will also connect the RZ team with additional local philanthropic organizations. Holly Hill’s Hope Place, Flagler’s Family Life Center and DeLand’s Neighborhood Center have received over 11,500 items combined.
“We’re tremendously grateful to be included in Rue & Ziffra’s charitable contribution,” Courtney Edgcomb, UWVCF president, said. “At this time when so many people’s needs are heightened, it’s an absolute breath of relief to have these basic human necessities coming in to share.”
