Campaign for Working Families

The Campaign for Working Families (CFWF) an initiative of United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties (UWVFC) has been leading the Campaign for Working Families through supervision and support of volunteers and staff involved with providing several direct services, all focuses on improving the financial condition families. Started in 2004 CFWF brings together community leaders, nonprofits, government and businesses to create lasting change through partnership and sponsorship.changes the lives of the people in the community by giving low to moderate income families the resources they need to help gain the financial stability to ensure a quality life for themselves and their children.

 

The Campaign for Working Families continues to: 

  • Provide free income tax preparation for low to moderate income families
     
  • Provide free financial education classes partnering with non-profits, faith-based, government, and community organizations
     
  • Provide outreach and education about the Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit
     
  • Promote and encourage saving through Bank-On Volusia-Flagler for the banked and under-banked

 

Our Goals

EARN IT - Increase the resources available to working families, primarily through providing free tax preparation.


KEEP IT - Provide free financial literacy classes to build assets and become financially secure.


SAVE IT - Encourage saving, as part of people’s everyday lives. Building positive banking relationships.

Financial Literacy

United Way's Campaign for Working Families offers free financial literacy classes to individuals through partner agencies, local governments, schools and nonprofits.  Classes are for youth, young adults, adults, teens, and seniors.  


Bank On

Bank On Volusia/Flagler is a regional partnership between nonprofit community organizations and financial institutions to help low income working households keep and grow their assets. By providing financial education and coaching, people are provided with tools to obtain asset growing products with mainstream financial institutions.
